Estate Planning

Estate planning for individuals and families

L.A. Family Law Center provides selected estate-planning services for individuals and families, including clients whose planning must coordinate with a prenuptial agreement, postnuptial agreement, divorce judgment, trust, business interest, or assisted-reproduction arrangement.

Documents we prepare or review

Depending on the engagement, services may include preparation or review of:

  • Wills
  • Revocable living trusts
  • Powers of attorney
  • Advance health-care directives
  • Property-transfer documents
  • Beneficiary and succession planning

Coordination matters

Estate-planning documents should be reviewed together with marital agreements, beneficiary designations, jointly titled property, retirement accounts, life insurance, and business succession documents. Conflicting provisions can create disputes or produce results the client did not intend.

The firm evaluates the requested scope before accepting an estate-planning matter and may recommend coordination with tax, probate, or other counsel when appropriate.
